Deseeding & Packaging in M.A.P- Pomegranates Array
Coping with deseeding pomegranates and packing arils in ready to eat trays, is a unique, complex, multi challenged task.
FCT ( Fresh Cut Technology) with the cooperation of Hefestus Ltd, have taken this challenge and are now offering the "state of the art" solution for producing a high quality– long lasting (shelf life up to 12 days and more) product.
Our Innovative Array includes:
1. Rinsing machine.
2. Manual or Automatic sectioning machine.
3. Automatic de-seeding pomegranates (arils/ flesh).
4. Drying conveyor with blower system.
5. Automatic filling & weighting machine.
6. SLB™ (Shelf Life Booster). MAP Automatic sealing machine.
7. Other equipment (conveyors ect.)
Unique Advantages
- These advantages enable continuous production, low waste - achieving long lasting shelf life in low costs. Washing the fruit is done with water at room temperature; there is no need for preliminary steps such as: curing or rinsing with hot water (blanching), which could damage the quality of the fruit.
- The deseeding process is affected by ultra sonic waves, while the cut fruit is soaking in a water container, protected from mechanical injuries.
The process includes conveying system which separates the arils from the flesh and peel.
- Packaging process includes a versatile packaging machine adjusted to pack trays in various dimensions: from personal servings up to large trays (half gastronome).
- To achieve optimal long lasting shelf life, we pack the arils in Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP).
SLB TM - Hefestus' registered patent, creates modified atmosphere without drawing mechanical vacuum, thus the arils are not damaged during the MAP process.
No need to use preservatives and additives to keep the freshness of the arils.
This technology enables extending the product' shelf life up to 12 days and more.
